‘Wear a Hat Day’ will see thousands of people wearing big, bold and glamorous hats up and down the country! On Thursday 30th March*, we want everyone at the University of Portsmouth to wear a hat to work and make a donation in aid of Brain Tumour Research. All of our staff will be wearing silly hats to encourage you – and that includes our class instructors too!
How can you get involved?
You can make your donation online by clicking the button below, or donation buckets will be available on the day in both reception areas and with class instructors.
Brain Tumour Research have a dedicated research centre of excellence at the University of Portsmouth which carries out groundbreaking research. Due to this important partnership, Sport and Recreation have worked year on year to help raise funds for this valuable cause. Over the last 9 years, we’ve helped to raise £9655.68 in total. This equates to around 3.5 days of research for the charity – a day of research for the charity costs £2740.
Later this year, we will be holding further events in aid of Brain Tumour Research. Events will include Brain Tumour Research Fundraising Week, Half-Term Swimathon and the Great South Run. For more information on our Brain Tumour Research events, look out for updates or email [email protected].
*Please note: although ‘Wear A Hat Day’ is recognised as Friday 31st March, we will be hosting our event on Thursday 30th March.return to news
