Sports volunteers wanted!

Get Active Stay Active

We are seeking students to be part of our ‘Get Active’ team!

Our Get Active, Stay Active programme offers sessions in 25 sports, with over 50 sessions a week. The programme is available all year round to students and staff at the University of Portsmouth, and is funded by Sport England. Sessions are either free-of-charge or at reduced costs, and membership is free! Get Active, Stay Active is a great way for students to socialise, have fun, and get active!

Get Active, Stay Active sessions are led by a team of student volunteers known as Activators and Coordinators. We currently offer sessions in many sports, but we are seeking volunteers in Futsal and Badminton!

  • Are you a passionate individual?
  • Do you want to help improve sports participation on campus?
  • Could you spare a few hours a week volunteering?

Then you should consider our opportunities below! No experience is required as we will provide all training; just a passion to get students active in your sport! To show appreciation for the hard work our Activators and Coordinators do, we actively recognise their achievements with our ‘Activator of the Month’ award and also organise social outings to reward our volunteers.

These are roles are great working experience for anyone looking to set foundations for a sport-based career, or for learning extra skills which can be transferred to your CV, including: Leadership, Team Building, Communication and Planning & Organising.

For all applications, questions and enquiries, please e-mail Alex Cole ([email protected]). Want to be an Activator for a sport we don’t currently offer? Get in touch too!
