What is meditation?

Meditation is a practice which uses techniques such as mindfulness, or focusing the mind on a particular object, thought or activity.

This trains attention and awareness, to achieve a mentally clear and emotionally calm, stable state.

Benefits of relaxation meditation include:

  • Slows your heart rate, therefore decreasing the workload of the heart and lowering blood pressure.
  • Lowers your stress levels, as well as building skills to manage stress.
  • Increases self-awareness which allows you to focus on the present moment.
  • Increases imagination and creativity.
  • Allows you to gain a new perspective on stressful situations.
  • Increases brain function and work capacity and concentration.
  • Increases your happiness and emotional stability

Come to whichever session you find most convenient.

Then apply the principles you learn whenever you find yourself becoming tired and tense, to bring you back to a mindful state.
