Core Training

At Sport and Recreation we value our customers training experience. Our goal is to help you get the most from each gym experience. With that in mind we have designed one off small group training sessions with an approachable, friendly and experienced member of our team.

The next small group training session we are running is core training. A 30 minute session with a knowledgeable trainer to shape, sculpt and strengthen your core area.

When you train your core, you are training the muscles of the pelvis, lower back, hips and abdomen to work in harmony with each other.

This leads to better stability and balance, be this on the playing field on a Wednesday or in daily activity. In fact most physical activities depend of stable core muscles.

Benefits of core training:

  • Tightens the abdominal structures involved in movement and improves the transfer of power to and from the extremities.
  • Teaches the muscles to work together efficiently and effectively.
  • Helps to stabilise and align the spine, ribs and pelvis of a person to withstand static and dynamic force.
  • Improves spinal and postural control while the body is still and in motion.
